these rolls are such a yummy and nutritious alternative to bread rolls, they’re gluten free and so easy to make.

but what is psyllium?

Psyllium, or plantago husk, is rich in soluble fiber which helps improve digestion and prevent constipation.

It helps stabilize blood sugar levels by slowing down carbohydrate absorption, which is especially beneficial for those with diabetes.


Psyllium also aids in weight management by increasing feelings of fullness and reducing overeating.
Its consumption helps lower “bad” cholesterol levels, supporting cardiovascular health.


Additionally, psyllium acts as a prebiotic, improving gut flora and promoting detoxification of the body

I can’t recommend enough trying these low-carb rolls made with eggs and psyllium. They’re so quick to bake in the oven and turn out fluffy and soft.


Perfect for making a sandwich or spread with pâté or strawberry jam – delicious.


Even if you’re not trying to lose weight give these rolls a try – they look just like real rolls.


what you’ll need:

  • Preparation time: 10 min
  • Cooking time: 15 min
  • Servings: 3 pieces

ingredients:

  • Water – 20 ml
  • Psyllium – 20 g buy on amazon
  • Baking powder – 4 g
  • Salt – 2 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs

step 1:

Combine psyllium (20 g), salt (2 g), and baking powder (4 g) in a bowl. Mix well. preheat oven to 160º Fan Oven, 180º Oven.

step 2:

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs (2 pcs.).
Add the dry mixture to the eggs.

step 3:

Mix well and add boiling water (20 ml). Stir the mixture thoroughly. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

step 4:

Lightly grease parchment paper with oil. Form the rolls with wet hands. You should get 3-4 rolls. Place them in a preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes.


additional tips:

✔️You can add any seeds or spices you want into the mix. I love adding pumpkin seeds, caraway seeds and sesame seeds.

✔️You can make a large batch, cut into 2 pieces and freeze – they are so quick to defrost in a microwave or toaster and are as good as freshly made

✔️ don’t forget to drink enough water during the day to prevent constipation. For better digestion, fiber needs water.

✔️ i like organic psyllium husk powder but you can choose any psyllium husk powder you like, it will work perfectly well for making these yummy rolls.
